Basildon community organisation grant

Basildon BoroughSource checked 12 August 2026Review by 12 November 2026Basildon

What local groups should prepare before applying for up to £2,000 from Basildon Council.

What the grant is for

The council’s application asks how a proposed project benefits people in Basildon Borough and supports its aims: a place for everyone to call home, where everyone prospers and that people can be proud of.

Applicants need to explain the project, its lasting benefit, volunteer opportunities, inclusion and value for money.

Prepare before opening the form

Draft your answers separately because the council warns that the online form cannot be saved and completed later. Prepare key dates, milestones, consultation evidence, permissions, a budget and a recent bank statement.

The project must be completed within 12 months. Allow at least 12 weeks for a decision and do not plan to start before the application is assessed.

Accuracy check

Funding is discretionary and criteria may change. Read the current guidance notes linked from the council’s application page before committing expenditure.
