A £2.4 million facility offers specialist support within a mainstream secondary school.
A new facility at Saffron Walden County High School officially opened on 24 September. Called The Birches, it provides learning spaces for up to 40 pupils with special educational needs and disabilities.
The £2.4 million development includes three classrooms, three smaller group rooms and spaces to support wellbeing. It allows pupils to receive specialist help while being part of a mainstream school community.
Essex County Council reported the opening on 28 September. The facility is part of the school’s education provision; it is not a public drop-in service. Read the council’s announcement for more about the project.
